The Artist
Miss Urmila Vayda, from the Palghar district of Dahanu, has always loved "warli" art. Her mother, who is also a warli artist, taught her the craft. She has spent seven to eight years making warli art. So far She visits to many locations to promote Warli art through workshops, exhibitions, and camps. Additionally, she received an "Award" by the Craft Council of Telangana, or CCRT. Recognized as a Young Artist Award. Additionally, she hopes that tribal warli art would gain more recognition and exposure.
